Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Christian Chukwu, has been confirmed to very sick. The former national coach is in need of support to enable him get medical treatment outside Nigeria. It was learnt that he needs an estimated $50,000 assistance to take care of the medical bills.
He is expected to make a trip to the United States where he will undergo surgery.
Chukwu was the captain of the Green Eagles that won the Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980 in Lagos. It was Nigeria’s first Nations Cup gold.
“We are hoping to raise about $50,000 to cover Christian Chukwu’s round trip flight from Nigeria and all the medical expenses. Leftover funds will help set up a health and welfare account for all Ex Rangers,” a member of the immediate ex-Rangers players taking care of the challenge said.
