Ex Wham! singer, George Michael has died, aged 53. Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in north London, the talented star, who started his flamboyant and successful career with Wham! in the 1980s and later went solo, is reported to have “passed away peacefully at home.” Although George Michael had some encounters with the authorities due to his recent drug problems,   Police say they were treating the death “as unexplained” but there were no suspicious circumstances. In almost four decades of his colourful career, George Michael sold more than 100m albums; little wonder why he was regarded in the musical world as a hugely proficient singer, songwriter and music producer.

Surely, the year 2016 has seen deaths of many brilliant artists, such as pop behemoths David Bowie, Prince and Rick Parfitt, hence, causing another gifted artist Duran Duran   to refer the year as “curse of 2016.”
