Welcome to The Torch, which tries to beam light on those hidden African socio-political problems. With The Torch, Kata Kata creates awareness of the social issues confronting Africa. Do come on board!
That corruption in Africa is endemic is more or less second-hand news, but who aids African leaders to perpetuate their corrupt practices? Often Africa’s corruption/mismanagement is condemned by the West; but where do African leaders hide their stolen money? What are the Western countries doing to eradicate corruption in Africa? Or is the West just encouraging stealing in Africa? Do the Western countries benefit from the stolen treasure from Africa?
Recently, a court in France handed out a 3 month suspended sentence and 30m euro suspended fine to Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, the son of Equatorial Guinea’s President for corruption. With a sentence like this, do you wonder why African leaders have no fear hiding their stolen money in the West?
Enjoy The Torch and kindly send us stories you believe other Africans – and the rest of the world would like to hear. Come on board! Click on http://www.katakata.org/the-torch/
