Joshua vs Parker: Plenty of Sex Fuelling AJ’s bBoxing

Athletes differ on their views about sex and active sports but Anthony Joshua has revealed how high number of sex is fuelling him ahead of his showdown with Joseph Parker.

David Haye famously once said he does not ejaculate for six weeks prior to a fight. And former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch refrained from fun in the bedroom for weeks before a bout. Muhammad Ali did likewise, according to The Sun report.

But Joshua, who on Friday weighed-in almost a stone lighter than his last fight at 17st 4lbs, reportedly has no such plans. And he is apparently happy to keep his sex life active right up until the day of the fight.

Joshua has vowed to take his time and pick his shots, while Joseph Parker will be relying to land a big hit, writes Wally Downes Jr.

If AJ adopts his calculated approach, Parker will be on the back foot – but regardless of his tactics we back Joshua to win by stoppage.

And he could select his shots and KO the Kiwi in the later rounds.

But if Parker turns this bout into a scrap, which he needs to do, AJ could land his heavy right hand earlier on.

AJ told the Daily Telegraph, “I’m the new breed, the new generation of fighter.

“The day of the fight suits me in terms of a ban.”

A sleep specialist has also been instrumental in helping the 28-year-old look ripped and lean ahead of the bout.

And it is in the form of catnaps that he has recouped the energy needed for a gruelling 12-week training camp.

Mark Ellison, his nutritional consultant, told The Sun, “He has a weekend routine and a weekday routine.

“Generally, we don’t get out of the EIS (English Institute of Sport) Sheffield until after 10pm at night.

“By the time he eats, gets back to his hotel, chills out, then it can get pretty late. He can be running at 7am with the amateurs or a run down down the canal. It’s not much sleep. There’s no catch-up with him, because the guy is relentless. But this is a new sleep regime. It resets the body. It helps muscle repair.”
