The 2022 Oscars will remain memorable, not because of the positive impacts the occasion has created in the entertainment industry or the number of talented minorities in the show business who got recognised during the awards night. No. Not really. Instead, this year's prestigious award was marred by an unprecedented moment when actor Will Smith walked gently on stage and gave a thunderous slap to the presenter of the documentary prize Chris Rock, who made a joke about Mr Will's wife.  Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myjEoDypUD8 The unexpected slap, which went viral on social media, sent the whole hall into a sudden silence and left stunned viewers wondering if the act was scripted or genuine.  Rock, who presented the award for best documentary for a comedy short, joked about matching Jada Pinkett Smith's short hair to Demi Moore's performance in the film "G.I. Jane" and suggested that she will appear in the sequel. In a moment of awkward silence and confusion at the Dolby Theater, Smith approached Rock and slapped him before returning to the seat next to Jada, and yelling swear words.  "Keep my wife's name out of your f*****g mouth," Smith shouted, forcing producers to beep for a few seconds on television broadcasts to hide offensive words from Will Smith.  Jada Pinkett Smith, an actress, suffers from alopecia and publicly announced her diagnosis in 2018. According to The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg, a tearful Smith had to be comforted by Denzel Washington, who was in attendance, during the break.  Rock presented the Documentary Award to Summer of Soul director Questlove. Immediately after, Sean "Diddy" Combs took to the stage to present a montage of clips to celebrate The Godfather's 50th anniversary.  "I didn't know that this year was going to be the most exciting Oscars ever!" Sean Combs joked. "Okay, Will, Chris—we're going to solve that like family. But right now, we're moving on with love." After the ad break, co-host Amy Schumer briefly tried to create a lighter mood from the Chris Rock and Will Smith episode. "I took off that Spider-Man costume. Did I forget something?" She asked. The audience, including Smith, laughed.  "There's a different vibe here. Probably not. Well, whatever -- okay. Schumer added. Some have argued that Will Smith deserves the Oscar for the best mood swing. From laughing to slapping and crying during his acceptance speech. Hum!
